The Magic of Christmas
Gail Mitchell © 2002
Is it the presents? Is it the spending?
Suspense and surprise and all the pretending?
Parcels and parties and pantos galore
Is it the children who Christmas is for?
Houses lit up from the roofs to the gates,
Feasts full of roast meats, Stilton and dates,
Mince pies and mulled wine – might these be the reason?
Or maybe the family home for the season?
Snow from the north wraps the earth in its splendour
Could that bring the magic, this time in December?
Or is it a baby, born in a slum?
A no one from nowhere who grew to become
Immanuel – A God Revelation
Hope for our lives – A true celebration!
