A Letter to a friend (from God)
I have heard your cry and I will lift you out of this and put your feet on solid rock. I will put a new song in your mouth. [Psalm 40:1] I will not cast you from my presence or take the Holy Spirit from you but I will restore to you the joy of your salvation [Psalm 51:11]. Fear not for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name. When you pass through rivers they will not sweep over you and when you walk through fire you will not be burned. You are precious and honoured in my sight, I love you. [Isaiah 43:1,2,4]. Always come to me when you are weary and troubled and I will give you rest, I am gentle and humble in heart and your heart will find rest with me. [Matt. 11:28]
Forget what is behind you, do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing. I have plans for you, plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future [Jeremiah 29:11]. Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find because everyone who asks in my name will receive what they ask for [Matt. 7:7]. I can do immeasurably more than you could ever ask or imagine. [Eph. 3:20]
Now I am your Father and I am a Father of compassion and a God of comfort. I will comfort you in your troubles so that one day you can pass on the comfort I have given you to others. [2Cor 1:3-4] And I want you to understand how wide and long and deep and high is my love for you [Eph. 3:18]. I showed you how much I love you because I sent Jesus to die for you, not when you were doing everything right, but when you had turned your back on me [Rom. 5:8].
So if people condemn you, remember that they condemned Jesus, my own son, first. [John 15:18] They have no right to judge you [Luke. 6:37]. I didn’t send Jesus to condemn you, no way! I sent him to save you [John 3:17]. Which means that, if I’m on your side, how can anyone else be against you? Who can judge you? No one, because I have made you clean and perfect in my sight, for always. So remember that, together, we can overcome anything. NOTHING can stop me loving you; not death nor life; neither angels nor demons; neither the present nor the future; nor any powers; neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will ever be able to separate you from me. [Rom: 8:28-38]
Now Jesus came so that you could have life and have it to the full [John 10:10] but the road to life is narrow and sometimes not easy. [Matt. 7:14] He set you free so that you could live in freedom so don’t get all burdened and enslaved by things [Gal. 5:1]. Everything is allowed! But remember that not everything is beneficial or constructive [1 Cor. 10:23].
I’m leaving you my peace, it is a gift from me, and it’s not a gift I expect anything in return for. So rest from your worries, don’t be troubled or frightened. You can have peace even though this world will give you trouble because I have overcome the world. I have everything under control. [John 18:33]
